Vangent to operate HIX call center in 34 states
The US federal government awarded Vangent, a General Dynamics subsidiary, a $28 million contract to manage and operate a call center which will field questions from consumers regarding health insurance exchanges (HIX).
Though the HIX infrastructure will be based entirely on the web, the contract covers communications that will take places between consumers via email, online chat, fax, and the US Postal Service.
CMS has requested final authorization on the call center operator scripts and the stipulations of the bid require that the call center be based in the continental United States.
