About: 2012 State Healthcare IT Connect Summit
June 19-21 Hyatt Dulles, VA
In Partnership with the National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO)
About
The 2012 State Healthcare IT Connect Summit is produced in partnership with the National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO) and examines the role of state health IT modernization and transformation at the intersection of HITECH and State Health Reform. States play an evolving and expanding role in driving health information exchange and adoption and use of health information technology.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has provided the foundational infrastructure for statewide Health Information Exchange and support the adoption of health IT by provider organizations, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) sets out the framework for the development of State Health Benefits Exchanges, interoperability between state and Federal systems and data support for the coordinated delivery models such as Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Medical Homes.
The coordinated deployment of Health IT has the potential to transform nearly every aspect of healthcare delivery, allowing providers to have comprehensive, intuitive, high-quality patient information at their fingertips to make the right decisions for patient care and to give states better insight into public health, and reducing costs associated with high risk populations.
What you can expect
At the summit, policymakers and leading HIT strategists will provide critical insights into state health IT’s function at the intersection of HITECH and health reform. Administrators of leading edge Accountable Care Organization pilots and the associated technology infrastructures will present their experiences, and health IT experts will look at the developing role of statewide health information exchange and Regional Extension Centers as the supporting infrastructure for quality improvements and reform.
Immersed in this intensive learning experience you will examine innovative strategies and best practice for managing and implementing information technology in the new transformed healthcare. You will leave the program with an appreciation of successful leadership and governance strategies, insights into statewide HIT architecture an in depth understanding of how states are moving their HIT programs forward both independently and in partnership with the private sector.
Leaving the conference you’ll have all the tools you’ll need ready to overcome barriers to change and improve the overall performance of your organization.
