Kaiser joins Oregon Health IT network

oregon-health-network-270Kaiser Permanente Northwest recently signed on to join the Oregon Health Network.  KP and non-KP providers aim to keep health data flowing smoothly, via increased interoperability, further strengthening the already large rural network.

Kaiser Permanente Northwest currently serves 500,000 patients.  The Oregon Health Network is currently making use of Federal Communications Network grants to provide more well-integrated health data, across the Oregon state health information exchange and beyond.

“The walls of cost and complexity in patient care and medical education are coming down, and we are pleased to be at the forefront of this transformation,” Abigail Sears, chief executive officer of OCHIN.
