Serves as the Director of the Data and Systems Group (DSG) in the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services at CMS. The Data and Systems Group is responsible for the IT systems, technology and data that CMS funds in the US states, Territories and the District of Columbia’s state Medicaid agencies. DSG is the agency lead for the Medicaid and CHIP Business Information Solutions (MACBIS) project, which includes T-MSIS, which is the largest and most comprehensive Medicaid data set; MACPro, a new state-facing system to automate CMS/state operational transactions, the federal Medicaid Pharmacy Rebate system and a host of other systems that support the Medicaid and CHIP Programs. In addition DSG’s portfolio includes shaping and implementing the agency’s efforts on state Medicaid/CHIP eligibility system modernization and integration with Insurance Marketplaces as well as human services programs; Health Information Technology (HIT/E), Medicaid Management Information Systems; and a growing emphasis on improving Medicaid IT development and system deployment practices. DSG also leads Medicaid data and analytics activities to support delivery system reform, program evaluation and oversight activities.
