James Gorman is a Senior Technical Advisor at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Prior to selling his outside business interests in 2007 and joining CMS, he was a technology entrepreneur with a
number of startup success stories. A graduate of Harvard University, Jim has held senior positions in the Maine State Bureau of Medical Services, the US Department of Health and Human Services and the United Nations, International Atomic Energy Agency. At the state level, he managed the Medicaid Program and led the development of a first stage modular MMIS. At DHHS, CMS he established and managed the initial federal research division to develop the system and data analytics necessary for the detection of Medicaid fraud and abuse.
