Government Health IT Conference Discusses Management Pillars

Date: June 12, 2013||   0  Comments

Population Health Management in the United States is colossal with a population of 313.9 million people. Daniel Newman, M.D., CMIO at MEDfx outlines  population health pillars during a session this week  at the Government Health IT Conference and Exhibition in Washington, DC. According to Newman, the three pillars of population health management are:

• Analytics

• Care Improvement

• Patient Engagement

Newman speculates that new IT-loaded health networks will possibly take up to six to eight years before they are universal. It’s no wonder with so many varying organizations, hospitals, and private practices with so much data coming in, new health care objectives, payment models and the enormous taks of  the overall organization.

In the mean time these pillars will need to be constantly measured and improved to reach optimal strength to manage health care for the United States population.
