EHR Vendor Survey Reveals Projected Shortfalls in Meeting Meaningful Use Stage 3

Date: 08.01.2013 | Zach Urbina">Zach Urbina

According to a recently released survey from Black Book Rankings project that nearly half of all vendors will fail to satisfy Meaningful Use Stage 3 by 2017.

90% of industry insiders will either merge, be acquired, or cease operating sometime in the next five years.

88% predict that the race to capitalize on the EHR incentive program will leave many vendors either spread too thin, or simply ill equipped to deal with key usability needs.

The poll responses show what many health IT insiders already knew. The landscape remains both crowded and competitive. Effective implementation is still a key challenge.
