DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority seeks “Navigators”
The DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority is looking for “Navigators” to educate and enroll individuals and small businesses in health insurance plans. The Navigators will be providing advice not selling plans.
It will be a massive feat to educate individuals in the fall so they can begin coverage on Jan. 1 2014. In Washington D.C., ALL residents and small businesses will be required to go through this government program for health care. Also, brokers and agents in the District will be prohibited from selling insurance.
A statement from the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority states the government agency will “partner with health insurance agents and brokers to provide consumers and small businesses with advice on selecting health plans.”
Potential Navigators can apply no later than June 24th.
