Baiju Jacob leads Optum’s Health IT initiatives for the government market. In this role he is responsible for developing the Health IT strategy and portfolio and oversight of client services delivery of HIT engagements to state and federal government clients. Baiju is a services executive who has successfully managed and delivered client engagements in multiple industries. He has advised technology executives and senior managers at Fortune 1000 firms and government agencies to develop strategies to solve complex business and technology issues.
Prior to joining Optum, Baiju held leadership roles at Unisys, overseeing the competency strategy to drive Unisys’ strategic growth initiatives worldwide. He was responsible for the Microsoft program in Global Public Sector; led horizontal practice services delivery in the financial services industry and a delivery executive within the US Public Healthcare unit. He has successfully built and led global teams to drive business development, go-to-market strategies and services delivery capabilities worldwide for $500M+ technology and services program in collaboration with corporate; cross-business unit, regional sales/marketing teams and strategic alliance partners.
At Unisys, Baiju has successfully managed and delivered client consulting and systems integration engagements in the financial, commercial, healthcare and public services industries. He has a proven ability in turnaround situations and has provided visible services delivery leadership effecting programmatic change with a relentless focus on aligning delivery goals to meet and exceed client expectations. He has led sales management strategies on large modernization engagements and was instrumental in establishing the Unisys Services Delivery Framework for program and project management for the US Federal Services segment.
Baiju has incubated, managed and delivered innovative industry-specific services offerings for electronic payments; stored value cards; and customer profitability besides global technology offerings for Communication & Collaboration; Business Intelligence; Data Integration and Enterprise Modernization. He had a significant role in the company’s R&D initiatives in enterprise architecture and software product lines and enterprise modernization strategies.
Prior to Unisys, Baiju was with the HayGroup, a global management consulting firm and a consultant to AT&T Bell Labs.
